Quick Answer

The SASSA payment dates for November 2026 are: older persons grant on Friday, 30 October 2026; disability grant on Monday, 2 November 2026; and children’s grants on Tuesday, 3 November 2026. Grants that are under review have a separate date on Thursday, 5 November 2026. The SRD R370 grant is not part of this schedule, so check your own pay date on the official SRD status page.

Old dates vs new dates

Some websites and calendars still show the first November schedule. News reports, including Rekord, say the original dates were 3, 4 and 5 November. Those older dates no longer apply.

Which day is mine?

Use this quick checklist to find your day:

  • You get the old age pension: your November money is paid on 30 October 2026. It is not extra money, it is your November grant paid early.
  • You get a disability grant or care dependency grant: look for 2 November 2026 for the disability grant. If you are unsure about another grant, check your SMS from SASSA or call the helpline.
  • You get a child support grant or foster child grant: your money comes on 3 November 2026.
  • You received a review notice from SASSA: your payment may be on 5 November 2026.
  • You get the SRD R370 grant: your date is shown on your own status page.

Why SASSA moved the November dates

SASSA moved the dates so that grant payments do not clash with the local government elections on 4 November 2026. Paying grants on election week would mean big crowds at pay points and shops on the same days people go to vote.

The new schedule spreads payments over separate days. SAnews reports that National Treasury approved the change. SASSA also asked people not to visit its offices unless they need to, and to rely only on official channels for news about dates.

How much will you get in November 2026?

November amounts are the same as the 2026/27 amounts that started in April 2026. They were announced in the February 2026 Budget, as reported by Parliament and SAnews.

GrantMonthly amount
Older persons grantR2,400
Disability grantR2,400
Care dependency grantR2,400
War veterans grantR2,420
Foster child grantR1,300 (from October 2026, according to Parliament)
Child support grantR580
Grant-in-aidR580
SRD grantR370

A grant-in-aid is an extra amount that SASSA can add to some grants for people who need full-time care. There is no new “bonus” grant for November. If you see a message about a bonus, treat it as unconfirmed unless SASSA or gov.za announces it.

When is the SRD R370 grant paid in November?

SASSA has not published one fixed November date for the SRD R370 grant. The SRD (Social Relief of Distress) grant runs on its own monthly cycle, separate from the older persons, disability and children’s grants.

Each approved person gets their own pay date. Once your application for a month is approved, the date appears on your status page. That is why one person may be paid days before another.

The SRD grant stays at R370 per month and has been extended until 31 March 2027, according to SAnews.

Hand using a smartphone to check SRD grant status online

To find your SRD pay date:

  1. Open the official SRD portal at srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status.
  2. Enter your ID number and the phone number you used to apply.
  3. Request the one-time PIN (OTP) and type it in on the official site only.
  4. Look at the November 2026 line. If it says “Approved”, a pay date should show next to it.

What 5 November means for grants under review

Thursday, 5 November 2026 is set aside for beneficiaries whose grants are under review. A review is when SASSA checks that a person still qualifies for their grant.

SAnews reports that SASSA wants people under review to answer official messages and go to review appointments when asked. If you got a review notice and ignore it, your grant could be held back. If you did not get any review notice, 5 November is probably not your date.

How to collect your grant without stress

You do not need to rush on the first day. Grant money paid into your bank account or SASSA card stays there until you withdraw it, so going a day or two later can mean shorter queues.

  • Check your balance first by SMS banking, an app or at the ATM.
  • Avoid election day, 4 November 2026, when many people will be out voting.
  • Keep your PIN private. Never let a stranger “help” you at the ATM.
  • Older persons can ask a trusted family member to help, but never share a PIN with anyone.

What to do if your money has not arrived

Wait at least one full day after your payment date, because banks can take time to show the money. If it is still missing, follow these steps:

  1. Confirm your grant type and date using the tables above.
  2. Check if you received a review SMS or letter from SASSA. If so, your date may be 5 November 2026.
  3. For the SRD grant, check your status on the official SRD portal. A status like “pending” or “declined” explains why no money was paid.
  4. Call the SASSA toll-free helpline on 0800 60 10 11. The line is open on weekdays, according to gov.za.
  5. If the problem is still not solved, visit your nearest SASSA office with your ID.

Watch out for SASSA scams

Fake messages about new dates and grant increases spread quickly around payday. SASSA never charges a fee for a grant, and it never asks for your OTP or PIN by phone, SMS or WhatsApp.

  • Only websites that end in .gov.za are official SASSA or government websites.
  • Do not trust WhatsApp numbers, USSD codes or “bonus grant” posts unless SASSA confirms them on an official page.
  • Never send money to anyone who promises to speed up your grant.

Report anyone who asks you for money for SASSA services to the police.

What to do next

Write down your grant’s new date from the table above, and keep this page for the 30 October to 5 November payment period. SRD grant holders should check their own pay date on srd.sassa.gov.za, and anyone with a missing payment should call 0800 60 10 11.
